X-Men First Class
Release Date: 3 June 2011
Director: Matthew Vaughn
IMDB: Before Charles Xavier and Erik Lensherr took the names Professor X and Magneto, they were two young men discovering their powers for the first time.
Before they were archenemies, they were closest of friends, working together, with other Mutants (some familiar, some new), to stop the greatest threat the world has ever known.
In the process, a rift between them opened, which began the eternal war between Magneto's Brotherhood and Professor X's X-MEN.

Hugh Jackman is confirmed to reprise his role as Logan, the Adamantium skeleton-laced berzerker, and a script by Christopher McQuarrie. Directors David Slade, Darren Aronofsky and Matt Reeves have all been recently linked to the project, though the studio has yet to announce who has been chosen to helm the sequel.

David Slade Directing Wolverine 2?
With Hugh Jackman’s recent decision to quit Avon Man, he’s got more time in his schedule to train for Fox’s sequel to Wolverine. And now it appears that the choice of director has been narrowed down to two possibilities, with Twilight: Eclipse’s David Slade and Red’s Robert Schwentke the leading contenders, according to the Vulture blog.
Slade, of course, can parlay his recent experience directing hairy creatures that fight and his past work on the likes of 30 Days of Night and Hard Candy. While thanks to Red’s healthy buzz, Schwentke has become something of the Ryan Reynolds of the megaphone world, lining up possible projects one after the other.
According to Vulture’s sources, Slade has the upper hand right now, but Jackman is even now putting them through their paces, Dragon’s Den-style to see who gets the job. Okay, so he’s probably just talking to them, but we like to think of it that way. Once a director has been picked, the film is scheduled to start shooting in January.

X-Men: First Class gains a Riptide
X-Men: First Class may currently be shooting right here in the UK, but that doesn’t mean its casting department gets to rest back on its laurels. A new character in the form of Riptide has been welcomed into the fold, with Alex Gonzalez taking on the role of the comic book henchman.
In the X-Men comics, Riptide is a mutant who works alongside the villainous Mr Sinister. Imbued with the ability to spin at a fast rate, Riptide attacks by hurling shuriken (ninja stars) from his body with such speed that they can smash through solid steel.
Though Mr Sinister is not believed to be appearing in the movie, there’s a chance Riptide could become a henchman to main First Class villain Sebastian Shaw, played by Kevin Bacon.

'X-Men: First Class' Star James McAvoy Wants To 'Bury' Patrick Stewart's Professor X
New film will reportedly reveal how character lost the ability to walk.
Over six years and three films, Patrick Stewart created an unforgettable representation of Professor X: austere, commanding, lacking a single hair on his head. Four years after Stewart's appearance in "X-Men: The Last Stand," a new film in the franchise — "X-Men: First Class" — is in production in England. James McAvoy faces the challenge of reinventing Professor X for a story that takes place before the character lost his hair or adopted his scholarly nickname.
How is the 31-year-old actor approaching that challenge? "I'm basically going to try and bury Patrick's performance," McAvoy laughed during a conversation with MTV News at the Toronto Film Festival while promoting the historical drama "The Conspirator."

X-Men: First Class Set In The ’60s
Ain’t It Cool News has revealed lots of new info about X-Men: First Class, thanks to an informal phone call from producer Bryan Singer who, apparently, “wanted to clarify some of what it is they’re doing” before the film starts shooting later this month.
Revelations include:
The film is set in the early ’60s.
Charles Xavier and Erik Lehnsherr will be in their late twenties.
Xavier does no start the film in a wheel chair; we will witness how he becomes wheelchair-bound during the course of the film.
Xavier will not be bald.
This is not the conventional First Class comic – but rather a new beginning for X-Men.
The costumes will be far more comic bookish.
Cyclops and Jean Grey are not in the film, but Cyclops’ brother Alex Summers, Havoc, will be (played by Lucas Till).
The film will feature The Hellfire Club.
Filming will begin with Xavier at Oxford University in the ’60s.
The film is going to have a much more international feel than the prior X-Men movies.
