Terminator T-800

T-800: I need your clothes, boots and your motorcycle.
Cigar Biker: You forgot to say please...

I swear I will not kill anyone.

Come with me if you want to live!

[John starts to cry] What's wrong with your eyes?

The more contact I have with humans, the more I learn.

[the Terminator has promised not to kill anybody, but to get into the hospital he shoots the guard in the legs]
He'll live.

[Dyson's personal code fails to access the computer room]
[Raises Grenade-Launcher] Let me try mine.

Stay here, I'll be back.

[One-armed and battered after confronting the T-1000]
I need a vacation.

Hasta la vista, baby.

John Connor

[as he hacks an ATM] Please insert your stolen card now.

Easy money.

[to The Terminator] Now don't take this the wrong way, but you're a terminator, right?

Did you call *moi* a dipshit?

[the Terminator rips open the steering column of a car to hotwire it, John interrupts, jingling a set of keys before him] Are we learning yet?

[the Terminator hoists a huge gun and lopsidedly smiles]
It's definitely you.

The whole thing goes: The future's not set. There's no fate but what we make for ourselves.

We got Skynet by the balls now, don't we?

Sarah Connor

[first lines - narrating] 3 billion human lives ended on August 29th, 1997. The survivors of the nuclear fire called the war Judgment Day. They lived only to face a new nightmare: the war against the machines.

The computer which controlled the machines, Skynet, sent two Terminators back through time. Their mission: to destroy the leader of the human resistance, John Connor, my son. The first Terminator was programmed to strike at me in the year 1984, before John was born.

It failed. The second was set to strike at John himself when he was still a child. As before, the resistance was able to send a lone warrior, a protector for John. It was just a question of which one of them would reach him first.

Hello, Doctor Silbermann. How's the knee?

On August 29th, 1997, it's gonna feel pretty f*****g real to you too. Anybody not wearing 2 million sunblock is gonna have a real bad day. Get it?

You're the one livin' in a f****n' dream, Silberman! 'Cause I know when it happens! It happens!

You're already dead, Silberman. Everybody dies. You know I believe it so don't f*** with me!

Dr. Silberman: You broke my arm!
Sarah Connor: There's 215 bones in the human body. That's one.

[Armed with a hypodermic syringe inudated with drain cleaner] I'll pump him full of this shit; I swear!

[to The Terminator] So, what's your story?

[voiceover] Watching John with the machine, it was suddenly so clear. The terminator wouldn't stop, it would never leave him. It would never hurt him or shout at him or get drunk and hit him or say it was too busy to spend time with him.

And it would die to protect him. Of all the would-be fathers that came over the years, this thing, this machine, was the only thing that measured up. In an insane world, it was the sanest choice.

Shut up! Shut up, shut up, SHUT UP! It's all your fault! Motherf****r, it's all your fault!

[narrating] Dyson listened while the Terminator laid it all down: Skynet, Judgment Day, the history of things to come. It's not everyday you find out that you're responsible for 3 billion deaths. He took it pretty well.

[last lines - narrating] The unknown future rolls toward us. I face it, for the first time, with a sense of hope. Because if a machine, a Terminator, can learn the value of human life, maybe we can too.

John Connor / Terminator T-800

John: You're not here to kill me - I figured out that for myself. So what's the deal?
T-800: My mission is to protect you.
John: Yeah? Who sent you?
T-800: You did. 35 years from now you reprogrammed me to be your protector here - in this time.
John: This is deep...

John: So this other guy: he's a Terminator like you, right?
T-800: Not like me. A T-1000, advanced prototype.
John: You mean more advanced than you are?
T-800: Yes. A mimetic poly-alloy.
John: What the hell does that mean?
T-800: Liquid metal.

John: I need a minute here. You're telling me that this thing can imitate anything it touches?
T-800: Anything it samples by physical contact.
John: Get real, like it could disguise itself as a pack of cigarettes?
T-800: No, only an object of equal size.
John: Why doesnt it become a bomb or something to get me?
T-800: It cant form complex machines, guns and explosives have chemicals, moving parts, it doesn't work that way, but it can form solid metal shapes.
John: Like what?
T-800: Knives and stabbing weapons.

[John Connor wants to get some things from home]
T-800: Negative. The T-1000 will definitely try to reacquire you there.
John: You sure?
T-800: I would.

John: No, no, no, no. You gotta listen to the way people talk. You don't say "affirmative," or some shit like that. You say "no problemo." And if someone comes on to you with an attitude you say "eat me." And if you want to shine them on it's "hasta la vista, baby."
T-800: Hasta la vista, baby.
John: Yeah but later, dickwad. And if someone gets upset you say, "chill out"! Or you can do combinations.
T-800: Chill out, dickwad.
John: Great! See, you're getting it!
T-800: No problemo.

John: Jesus, you were gonna kill that guy.
T-800: Of course; I'm a terminator.

John: You just can't go around killing people.
T-800: Why?
John: What do you mean why? 'Cause you can't.
T-800: Why?
John: Because you just can't, OK? Trust me on this.

T-800: The T-1000's highest probability for success now will be to copy Sarah Connor and to wait for you to make contact with her.
John: Great, but what happens to her?
T-800: Typically, the subject being copied is terminated.
John: Shit! Why didn't you tell me? We gotta go right now!
T-800: Negative. She's not a mission priority
John: F*** you, she's a priority to me!

John: Does it hurt when you get shot?
T-800: I sense injuries. The data could be called "pain."

John: Are you ever afraid?
T-800: No.
John: Not even of dying?
T-800: No.
John: You don't feel any emotion about it one way or another?
T-800: No. I have to stay functional until my mission is complete. Then it doesn't matter.
John: Yeah. I have to stay functional too. I'm "too important".

John: We're not gonna make it, are we? People, I mean.
T-800: It's in your nature to destroy yourselves.
John: Yeah. Major drag, huh?

T-800: Why do you cry?
John: You mean people?
T-800: Yes.
John: I dont' know. We just cry. You know, when it hurts.
T-800: Pain causes it?
John: No, it's when there's nothing wrong with you, but you hurt anyway. You get it?
T-800: No.

T-800: I'll take care of the police.
John: Hey, wait! You swore!
T-800: [smiles] Trust me.

[the T-1000 has fallen into a vat of molten steel]
John: Is it dead?
T-800: Terminated.

Sarah Connor, John Connor, Terminator T-800

The Terminator: The Skynet Funding Bill is passed. The system goes on-line August 4th, 1997. Human decisions are removed from strategic defense. Skynet begins to learn at a geometric rate. It becomes self-aware at 2:14 a.m. Eastern time, August 29th. In a panic, they try to pull the plug.
Sarah Connor: Skynet fights back.
The Terminator: Yes. It launches its missiles against the targets in Russia.
John Connor: Why attack Russia? Aren't they our friends now?
The Terminator: Because Skynet knows the Russian counter-attack will eliminate its enemies over here.

Sarah Connor: How are you supposed to know? F******g men like you built the hydrogen bomb. Men like you thought it up. You think you're so creative. You don't know what it's like to really create something; to create a life; to feel it growing inside you. All you know how to create is death...
John Connor: Mom.
Sarah Connor: ...and destruction...
John Connor: Mom! We need to be a little more constructive here, okay?

John Connor: [holds up robot arm] Will this melt in the lava?
The Terminator: Yes, Throw it in.
John Connor: Adios!
[John Hurls the arm into the steel]
The Terminator: And the chip.
Sarah Connor: [in relief] It's over.
The Terminator: No. There is one more chip.
[points to head where chip is located]
The Terminator: and it must be destroyed, also.
John Connor: No! You can't go! You can't go! No, stay with us it will be ok.
The Terminator: It has to end here.
John Connor: I order you not to go. I order you not to go, I ORDER YOU NOT TO GO!
[John starts to cry]
The Terminator: I know now why you cry,
[terminator wipes johns tear]
The Terminator: but it is something I can never do.
[Gives elevator controls to Sarah]
The Terminator: Here. I cannot self-terminate. You must lower me into the steel.
[Sarah lowers him into steel]
The Terminator: Good-bye.

John Connor: Can you learn stuff you haven't been programmed with so you could be... you know, more human? And not such a dork all the time?
The Terminator: My CPU is a neural net processor; a learning computer. But Skynet pre-sets the switch to read-only when we're sent out alone.
Sarah Connor: Doesn't want you doing too much thinking, huh?
The Terminator: No.

John Connor: You know what you're doing?
The Terminator: I have detailed files on human anatomy.
Sarah Connor: I'll bet. Makes you a more efficient killer, right?
The Terminator: Correct.

Other Dialogue

T-1000: Say... That's a nice bike...

T-1000: Get out.

Tim: Your foster parents are kinda dicks, huh?

[Lewis, the Guard buys a cup of coffee, just before he is introduced to the T-1000]
Lewis, the Guard: Hey Gwen, you want some coffee?
Gwen: No thanks. How 'bout a beer?
Lewis, the Guard: Yeah, right.
Lewis, the Guard: Hey, I got a full house!
Gwen: That's good Lewis.
Lewis, the Guard: Must be my lucky day...
[the T-1000 impales his head]

John Connor: We've got company.
Miles Dyson: Police?
Sarah Connor: How many?
John Connor: Uh, all of them, I think.

SWAT Team Leader: You, in the window! Drop your weapon and put your hands on your head!
Police Helicopter Pilot: [Terminator starts firing minigun] Shit! That's a damn minigun!

Miles Dyson: Hi. Um, Carl. These are friends from out of town, I'm just gonna take them upstairs and show them around.
Gibbons: Now, c'mon Mr. Dyson, you know the rules if you want to bring visitors into the lab. I need written authorization...
The Terminator: [the Terminator and Sarah draw their guns] I insist.
Sarah Connor: [Gibbons is trying to push the alarm button] Don’t even think about it.

John Connor: Todd and Janelle are dicks, but I've gotta warn them. Got a quarter?
[the Terminator bashes into the coin bin and hands John a quarter]
T-1000 impersonating Janelle: [answers the phone] Hello?
John Connor: Hey, Janelle, it's me.
T-1000 impersonating Janelle: John? John, it's getting late, I want to have dinner with you, I'm making beef stew.
John Connor: [holds the phone] Something's wrong, she's never this nice.
T-1000 impersonating Janelle: John I'm getting worried about you, where are you?
Todd Voight: [hearing Max barking outside] What the hell is that goddamn dog barking at?
[shouting to Max]
Todd Voight: Hey, shut-up you worthless piece of shit!
John Connor: [to himself] I can hear the dog barking.
Todd Voight: We should tell John to get rid of that F*****n' mutt.
T-1000 impersonating Janelle: [uses her arm to kill Todd] John, where are you?
The Terminator: [takes the phone from John and impersonates his voice to talk] I'm here Janelle, I'm fine.
T-1000 impersonating Janelle: John, it's late, where are you?
The Terminator: [to John] What's the dog's name?
John Connor: Max.
The Terminator: [impersonating John's voice] Hey Janelle, what's wrong with Wolfie? I can hear him barking.
T-1000 impersonating Janelle: Wolfie's fine, honey, Wolfie's just fine. Where are you?
The Terminator: [hangs up the phone] Your foster parents are dead.
