Patricia and Graham return to Washington, in conference room with Harold.

H. MEDFORD: A bit more than 700 air miles, from White Sands to Brownsville, southeast.

GRAHAM: Well this Crotty said they were heading west the day he saw them.

H. MEDFORD: I believe there were strong easterly winds in that area on the day Crotty had his experience with the ants. They followed the line of least resistance.

I think we can surmise that one of the queens, possibly both of them, can create nests in this general area. We better inform the Mexican authorities and concentrate our search efforts here, as far south as Panama, as far north as Santa Barbera on the California coast.

GRAHAM: That's an awful lot of area, Doctor.

The phone rings.

H. MEDFORD: I'll get it. . . . Hello? Yea, Dr. Medford speaking. . . What? . . . I'll be right there.

Harold enters the new center. He reads the messages coming in.

H. MEDFORD: Nest hatched aboard a ship at sea.

The nest infested S.S. Viking at sea, a dark fog surrounds the ship.

The giant creatures are attacking, savagely gripping the victims with their lethal mandibles. They are firing their guns at the monsters, but it has little effect.

The screaming of the victims is mixed with the haunting high pitch sound of the creatures. A Sailor frantically tries to send a Morse Code S.O.S. A giant ant crashes into the room and attacks the Sailor.
