MacReady puts the heated wire to Copper's plate. Nothing but hissing.

MACREADY: Now Clark.

He heats the wire and lays it in Clark's dish. The hissing.

CHILDS: Then Clark was human, huh? . . . Which makes you a murderer, don't it.

MACREADY: Palmer now.

He holds Palmer's plate in front of him and heats the wire.

GARRY: This is pure nonsense. It doesn't prove a thing.

MACREADY: I thought you'd feel that way, Garry. You were the only one who could have gotten to that blood . . .we'll do you last.

MacReady places the wire in Palmer's dish.

Screech!!! The blood howls, springing out of the plate in the shape of a crimson cluster of tendons and blood.

The blood and the dish hit the floor. Then the individual streams of blood beging traveling on their own for an escape.

Palmer begins shaking violently with incredible force. The men are screaming, pleading for help. They are bound by ropes and helpless against what is about to become the Palmer-Thing.

MacReady is frantically trying to set the Palmer-Thing ablaze, but his flamethrower is crapping out at the worst possible time.

Palmer's face begins mutating to a hideous bloody mess -- his face splitting; his mouth roaring.

His eyes bulge out as blood streams from different openings.

The mutation continue till Palmer's face is no longer recognizeable.

MacReady is still struggling with the flamethrower as the men continue screaming desperately. The Palmer-Thing's hands have mutated to tenacles and are working the rope loose.

Now mostly free of the rope, the Palmer-Thing stomps it boots through the floor in an effort to stand. The others sit helpless, struggling at their bindings.

The Palmer-Thing lifts upwards elevating the screaming men along with it.

Now completely free of the rope, the Palmer-Thing shoots upwards and attaches itself to the ceiling.

Still no luck with his flamethrower, MacReady screams at Windows.

MACREADY: Windows! Blast him!

Windows comes forward and points his flamethrower upwards at the Palmer-Thing, but it quickly leaps down to face the frightened radio man.

Now face to face with the creature, Windows is frozen with fear.

The Palmer-Thing, is once again mutating to another grotesque shape. Screeching. Crackling. It's all happened too fast. Splitting and ripping wildly, exposing the beginnings of yet another orifice. The second orifice, spitting and snarling as it continues to take form. Palmer-Thing's mouth splits from his chin to his forehead revealing a long tongue-like tenacle.

The blackened, iron-strong tongue lunges outward and wraps around Window's neck. Stunned.

The tenacle yanks back, forcing Window's head into clamping jaws spiked with large carniverous teeth. The jaws of death engulfs the entirety of Window's head.

The Palmer-Thing lifts window with the large jaws, flinging the struggling body of Windows. The men are screaming hysterically. Window's swinging feet are smashing ceiling lights and nearby lamps. MacReady tries to fire up the bruised torch. Busted. Won't work.

The Palmer-Thing awkwardly spins in circles, swinging Window's body like a propeller blade, struggling to keep on balance. It finally releases him sending Window's bloodied body crashing to the floor.
