In the airport, the Check-in Attendant now has another ticket in her hand for yet another Korben Dallas. Zorg's Right Arm gives her a big smile. She explains she has only one Korben Dallas on her list and he's already checked in. Right Arm's smile shatters. He protests that he is Korben Dallas, but a shrill bell rings as the Check-in Attendant states that boarding is finished, and hits a button.
A thick window slowly slides up between them and the station drops out of site. Right Arm totally loses it. When he pounds on the glass out of anger, a steel column comes down, gun barrels protrude from the column, all aimed at him. We hear the same electronic voice heard in Korben's apartment building ordering him to put his hands in the yellow circles. Right Arm apologizes and complies.
In the passengers quarters, a beautiful stewardess informs the passengers on the speaker system that the flight attendants are switching on the timing sleeper which will regulate their sleep during the trip, to make their flight as short and agreeable as possible. A stewardess walks up the aisle of the passenger quarters pushing the red buttons on top of each individual box.
Korben makes his way through the quarters, looking for his assigned location. No more seats in modern planes, just individual travel boxes lined up like microwaves. He has found what he is looking for. He enters, Leeloo is quietly stretched out in front of a computer screen and just learned the English language. Korben slips in beside her. Leeloo greets him, this time in English to his surprise.
He tries to explain to her he is on an important mission. If he had not come for her, she would be in big trouble. She smiles and replies, "You - no trouble. Me, fifth element - Supreme Being. Me, protect you. . . . Sleep." The stewardess looks in their box, "Sweet dreams, Mr. Dallas!" She activates the timer, his head drops like a rock.
The stewardess heads to the cockpit and informs the pilot the sleep regulators in Zone One are now activated. Three crew members, the pilot, co-pilot, and cockpit mechanic, prepare for liftoff. He radios another stewardess to confirm the same for Zone Two. The Zone Two stewardess at the other end of the shuttle has a problem, but she replies all are ready.
Then Ruby's head pops up in view in front of her. She insists he must assume his individual position. He replies, "I don't want one position, I want all positions!" His head then disappears below her as she lets out a passionate gasp. In the cockpit, a red light flashes on the vast control panel.
The co-pilot reports they have parasites in the landing gear. The mechanic radios the ground crew to inform them. On the airport landing strip, a ground crew member confirms the request and orders in a disinfecting team. A man with dreadlocks calls to them in a heavy Jamaican accent, "We need some heat here, man!"
Three Disinfectors in protective suits go over to the landing gear and send up a whooshing stream of fire. The flame burns everything it touches. A pack of repugnant creatures falls squealing from the landing gear. The Jamaican and a tall blond ground crew member look on as they toke on a joint.
A small trapdoor on the landing ground is opened under the shuttle and a huge phosphorescent lime-green tube comes into view. As the disinfecting team finish up burning all the parasites, a trapdoor on the shuttle now opens, containing the same type phosphorescent lime-green tube.
The Jamaican removes the tube from the shuttle and just as he rams the new tube into the hole, we cut back to the Zone Two Stewardess. Her gasps of passion continue, Ruby's head pops up again, "You can call me Ruby," and dives back down. Back at the landing strip, the two ground members radio the cockpit they are fueled and ready to go.
A series of quick cuts: A phone call between Zorg, at his office, and Right Arm, at the airport. Right Arm, sweating heavily, delivers the bad news to Zorg he is not on the plane, the real Korben Dallas took his place. Zorg, in disbelief, "Are you making funny of me?" Ruby's head pops up, "No, no, no! I swear! I never felt this way before!" Zone Two Stewardess is lapping up his sales pitch. Ruby's head dives back down.
Airport, Right Arm explains to Zorg, "I've tried everything, there's no other way of getting on this plane." Runway, it's now empty. A man slips out of the shadows. It's Cornelius, he pauses for an instant, desperate for a way to get on board, he eyes the open landing gear. Cockpit, the crew members confirm ready for lift off. Ruby is undoing Zone Two Stewardess's top, behind a curtain, impossible to resist him.
Cockpit, the crew members are going through the pre-flight check list. Landing strip, protective fire curtains rise slowly to contain the engine exhaust on liftoff. Zone Two Stewardess, we see only her legs protruding from the curtain as her legs rise slowly. Cockpit, they increase power and commence the ten second countdown. Zorg, "I am little disappointed." His stuttering eye reflects that is an understatement.
Cockpit, the mechanic, "Five." Zorg, pressing buttons on a keypad, "And if there's one thing I do not like . . ." Cockpit, the mechanic, "Three." Zorg, "is to be . . . " Cockpit, the mechanic, "Two." Zorg, "disappointed." Cockpit, the mechanic, "One." Airport, Right Arm, "Sorry sir, this will never happen again." Zorg, "I know." Cockpit, the mechanic, "Lift off." Zorg, he punches one more key.
Airport, Right Arm literally explodes along with the phone and everything else within sixty feet. Zone Two Stewardess, she screams in ecstasy. The shuttle engines release their full power. Zone Two Stewardess, her legs slowly descend and disappear behind the curtain. Cockpit, the mechanic reports landing gear secure.
In the cockpit, the atmosphere loosens up. The pilot requests checklist for lightspeed. The shuttle climbs in altitude high above the vast megalopolis. We see the huge airport from above, parked on the bay. The shuttle rockets past us, then suddenly vanishes with amazing speed. Space is now empty and calm. Billions of stars glow in perfect silence.
